RSS Feeds

Week 4 of Web 2.0

I have noticed the RSS feeds symbol when checking my emails in Outlook and now know that it stands for Real Simple Syndication.
I think it is a good idea that you can select from websites of interest and have the latest information and news sent directly to you, rather than having to go searching for it, although you could receive an overload of information to search through.
The Library could perhaps subscribe to the popular authors that have visited us and we would like to have visit again, to keep us informed of their news and latest publications and release dates.

I couldn't seem to subscribe to the West Australian or a local paper from my home town but did sucessfully add the RSS feed for the Learning 2.0 Basics training, as requested, together with unshelved, weescotslady and wellidclare blogspots and the sammyandbella website, having just been hooked on the latest Your Kitchen Rules TV show!

  1. I agree - getting RSS feeds from popular authors could be very useful for the library. All we need is the time to check for updates etc.
